Julian, it was great fun visiting you on your side of the world in Berlin! We miss you again already! We wish we could see you more often because you are growing up and changing so fast – we want to be there to watch you grow. That’s why we like to video chat with you; it gives us a smidge of an idea about what you’re up to.
Speaking of what you’re up to, I think you told me you would like to draw with me. I have made a little apple drawing inside of a square. You can draw an apple next to mine inside the other square. I put tracing paper in the envelope too. You can also trace my apple if you want. If you want to keep my apple sketch, you can cut it off on the fold line and send me your drawing alone. Okay? Your mama will show you.
It’s fun doing things together. When people are far away from each other, they send one another letters or drawings, so since you and I are so far away from each other, trading letters and drawings is a pretty nice way to do something together, don’t you think? It’s nice to feel like we’re together even though there’s a big ocean between us.
I love drawing and painting, especially for you. I also love writing to you. I’ll send you our leaf project next, and after that the grapes and the pear projects, just like you asked.
